the size of the heart

she's back!
our little visiting female anna's hummingbird (Calypte anna)
has returned after the minus temperatures cold spell
she's the one who just hangs out at the feeder
quietly
and she is also the one who was upside down at the feeder recently
she seems to visit with another male anna's hummingbird
her mate or sibling?
not the one who's been on the rose cane vigilantly guarding all three feeders
i suspect the he chased them away
during this very cold weather
and that they found their own feeder
i'm happy she's visiting our garden again
she's really stolen my heart!
how is it possible
that something so small
takes up so much space in the heart?!
and she's not the only being
occupying my heart
what does that say
about the size of our hearts?
