savouring sweetness!

hum sits

all day long

at his high post

on the cane of thorns

where roses once grew

sunup to sundown

in the snow

guarding

his kingdom

(of feeders)

although 

he does graciously

allow

the small flock of sparrows

a few sips

of sweetness
