bursting heart!
the last of our garden roses!
just before we tucked our roses into their winter pyjamas
(leaves & a recycled manure bag wrap)
for their long winter snooze
i picked every last remaining bloom
before the freezing temperatures were upon us
(most of them were still tight buds
and the warmth inside our home
caused them to open open open)
what is the word
when you look at something
and the heart bursts?
sheer joy & giddiness & swooning & immense gratitude & blessed blessed blessed & awe
all rolled up into one
is there a word for that?
the photos really don't do them justice
i took the vase of roses into our back garden
to photograph them in the outdoor light
which seems to add more brilliance
and the scent!
pure heaven!
if someone could create an app that you could use to smell the roses
they'd make billions
lean in and smell anyways!
a dear dear teacher used to post a sign in her classes
that read:
Finish Strong
that's exactly what the roses did!
a strong finish to the year of immense growth
(perhaps we need to know this, too?!)
the last photo shows the beautiful afternoon sunshine
on the new canes of bamboo
which are whispering to me
to sit with them and video camera
(Satsang in the Garden!)
happy blessed beautiful day to you!
